When it comes to Oozeball, some
things may never change, said Drew
Barfield, intramural sports assistant
director.
Barfield, who has been Oozeball’s
tournament director since 2006,
said champions
are typically those
who play volleyball.
Oozeball is a
traditional UTA
mud volleyball
tournament.
The
event is scheduled to start at 1
p.
m.
Friday at the
corner of Summit
Avenue and Greek
Row Drive.
He said knowing how to play
volleyball will increase a team’s
chance of winning.
“If you’re able
to serve very well, then it’s going to
give you an advantage because the
other team can’t move to get to the
ball,” he said.
Last year’s first place winners, the
members of Swamp Thang, are winning in their league of intramural
sand volleyball, Barfield said.
“We all feel pretty confident,” said
Leslie Rodriguez, nursing junior and
Swamp Thang member.

of experience, she said.
