The university’s planned special events center
is one OK away from beginning construction.
The UT System Board of Regents Facilities Planning and Construction Committee approved final center designs, including an additional $5 million for the project, Wednesday.
The
full board will vote on the project today.
President James Spaniolo said in a statement
thattheprojectwasapproved“withoutquestion.
”
The additional $5 million to last semester’s
proposed $73 million project budget will be used
for unanticipated room requirements, like mechanical space, said John Hall, administration
