Criminal justice senior Michelle Venissat, her professor
and a couple of members of
the German Language Society
waited out the tornado warning
in a classroom in the basement
of Trimble Hall on Tuesday.
“We were outside at the International Week booth and
someone yelled for us to get
indoors,” said Venissat.
“After
that they told us to go to the
University Center basement,
but we decided to go to Trimble
Hall instead.
”
A tornado warning was issued Tuesday in Tarrant County.
Sirens and alarms could be
heard around campus as students rushed to their cars or
into buildings and campus
basements.
While taking shelter, students, faculty and staff used
various forms of technology to
find out what was going on.
“We turned on the weather
radio,” Venissat said.
