The Shorthorn staff
UTA is one of 16 schools in
the national March Madness
sustainability competition.
The competition, which is
running at the same time as
the NCAA college basketball
tournament, has three selective
rounds cutting schools to a final
four before announcing a winner on April 2.
The national champion’s
sustainability department will
win $5,000, and the department chairperson will receive
an all expenses-paid trip to attend a sustainability conference
in San Diego, where he or she
will lead a panel discussion.
Two students with the best
essay or video submissions,
who will be chosen from the
group that advanced to the
final four, will win netbooks.
This is the first March
Madness sustainability competition, and it is sponsored
by Enviance Inc.
, a global
provider of environmental
solutions, and Environmental
