The Shorthorn senior staff
UTA Police continues an investigation
into four assault and robbery reports, which
span from Nov.
19 to Wednesday, and urges
the university community to be cautious.
Police assistant chief Rick Gomez said
the incidents may be connected because
they have similar operating methods.
In
each case, the description given by the reporting individual has been a young African-American male in dark clothing, accompanied by others of similar description.
In three of the four cases, the victims were
asked to lend their cell phone before being
assaulted, he said.
If students are approached and asked for
a cell phone, they should say no and walk
the opposite direction and toward a crowd,
Gomez said.
If a car approaches a student,
