Present compilation – investigation paper was part of a team Project between geologist colleagues as part of the studies of master degree of geology in mineral resources at National University of Mayor de San Marcos in Perú. Author of this paper made the compilation and investigation about porphyry copper deposits and associated minerals at the north section of western and eastern cordilleras of Colombia.
During compilation of information exposed in this paper, it was clear that geologic information of Colombia is in fragments with few compendiums about the diverse and fascinating geology of this country. This fact was a big challenge and at the same time the motive to publish this paper, and take it as a beginning for other colleagues or people interested in earth sciences to give their contribution about geology of Colombia and its relation to porphyry copper deposits and even other
mineral deposits.
