SMT (Surface Mount Technology) is a packaging technology that has the capacity to install electronic
parts on the surface of a Printed Wiring Board (PCB / PWB) or Printed Circuit Board as an alternative of
inserting them through holes of the board.
It is a new advanced system in electronics that processes mini
electronic products at lesser volume, weight and cost.
They are also called ‘pick and place machines’ or ‘P&Ps’ that are used to place surface mount devices
(SMD) into the printed circuit board (PCB).
For this purpose, they provide high precision and high speed
mounting of electronic parts such as integrated circuits, resistors, and capacitors to be placed on PCBs.
When built these components are used for building of computers, automotive systems, consumer
