The Impossible and Snow White are Top Spanish Films of the Year
Spanish cinema netted 106 million last year more than ever before.
Spain, February 21, 2013 -- Two films feted at the 27th edition of the Goya Awards
have now brought the quality of Spanish cinema to the whole the world.
The first of
these films is The Impossible, directed by José Antonio Bayona, earning him his
second Goya Award for best director after his first for The orphanage.
The cast of
the film includes two Hollywood stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and has
becomethe highest-grossing film in Spain and the United States.
Meanwhile, Pablo Bergers flamenco and bullfighting version of the Brothers Grimm
tale Snow White (Blancanieves), won the prize for best film.
Selected to represent
Spain at the Oscars, it has had an excellent international reception at film
festivals such as San Sebastián.
