Europe Recognises the Work of the National Transplant Organisation
Spain, working with the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT), has organised the ‘Sixth
International Symposium on Asystolic Organ Donation’.
Asystolic organ donation is where organs are donated following a person’s death due to sudden cardiac
arrest.
Europe has decided to focus strongly on this kind of donation, since it is a good way of increasing
transplants.
Spain has an asystolic organ donation programme that serves as an example for many
countries, and this is why its National Transplant Organisation (ONT) has organised the ‘Sixth
International Symposium on Asystolic Organ Donation’ in Paris.

Assembly.
