During pregnancy women become more sensitive, emotionally, psychologically and physically due to the hormone
changes and adjustments in the body.
In any other situation, these changes are easy to treat and improve using
essential oils and aromatherapy.
However, essential oils are very powerful and are absorbed into your body and
bloodstream and will be passed through the system and undeveloped organs of the unborn baby.
Therefore during pregnancy we recommend that:
Months 1 – 4 No essential oils should be used on the body, in massage or in the bath, and only
the gentler oils, such as citrus oils, should be burned in moderation.
Lime oils can
be particularly useful for the relief of morning sickness when burned or added to
the rinse cycle in your washing machine.
Months 5 – 9 Lavender, Chamomile, Sandalwood and Mandarin may now be used on the body
in ¼ strength blends only.
