June in Waikiki is a time to pay tribute to King Kamehameha, who established the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1810. On June 7 at 3:30 pm, watch as a 25-foot flower lei is weaved on-site and draped over Kamehameha’s statue in Downtown Honolulu. On June 8 at 9 am, the Floral Parade will make its way through Waikiki, with hula dancers, pa’u riders (see below), floats, and marching bands. Culminating at Kapiolani Park with the annual Ho’olaule’a (celebration), you will enjoy performances, food booths and cultural demonstrations from 10 am – 4 pm.
