(Social Security Administration) to report all wages, tips, and other compensation paid
to employees along with all federal and state taxes withheld.
Form W-3 includes a total
of these amounts paid and withheld to all employees of the company or organization.
How is Form W-3 Related to Form W-2?
The W-3 form is used to summarize all amounts reported on W-2 forms for a specific
entity.
Form W-3 is filed with the IRS/SSA only when Copy A of Form W-2 is being
filed.
If only one Form W-2 is being filed by a company it is still required that Form W-3
be filed as well.
