Down to Sail? Marnie Juster For Auburn Family Published: October 31, 2012 The members of the Auburn University Sailing Club do not only consider themselves a part of the Auburn Family, but see themselves as a family of their own. The club said they spend time together more often than just at the lake, and a lot of their closest friends are from the club. If they’re not sailing on Lake Martin or jumping off of Chimney Rock, they’re most likely at The Sailing House, in which the Auburn University Sailing Club Commodore, Sammy Hodges resides. The club also partakes in other social events at the lake including: camping trips, cookouts, bonfires and parties. Their fun is not limited to the lake, though. The Auburn University Sailing Club’s tailgate is a hotspot, as well. The Auburn University Sailing Club can often be spotted near Parker Hall tailgating before home games.
