DAY 4
THURSDAY

J O H N 1 2 :3 4 - 3 6 A
The crowd that is listening to Jesus doesn’t yet understand
that his death means redemption for the world. They don’t
understand his identity. They don’t understand his destiny.
Jesus doesn’t directly answer their questions though.
Rather, he encourages faith in the midst of doubt and he
promises transformational results.
WHILE YOU HAVE THE LIGHT, BELIEVE IN THE LIGHT,
THAT YOU MAY BECOME SONS OF LIGHT.
—JOHN 12:36A
The crowd appeals to something they’ve heard from
in order to inform them about Jesus. What hearsay
has influenced your understanding of Jesus? What
have you heard of Jesus so far in this booklet that
has deepened your understanding of who he is?
Jesus is the light of the world and by association his
followers are the light of the world. What is
attractive about Christian community?
We live in a city filled with darkness with so much
potential for light. How can you live as light instead
of darkness?
