A well-made landing net is a valuable part of a fly fisherman’s tackle.
Glenn Dambrauskas says that a
poor quality net will probably let you down at crucial moments - for instance, when you have a sea
food dangling just a few feet away, and the hook has only figured out a sliver of its skin.
At times like
this, the last thing you want to do is wrestle with a shabbily created net which refuses to deploy.
A
decent fly fishing net should be strong but light, having a simple belt clip along with folding
mechanism for easy transporting.
Ideally, the net should also provide an extendable handle, which
can be brought out using just one hand, whilst you keep your foot on the side of the net.

can be useful if you want that extra few feet in order to land a fish.
As outlined by Glenn Dambrauskas, the best type of net is but one made from rubber.
These are
