The cardiovascular apparatus is formed by the circulatory and
lymphatic systems. It transports nutrients, oxygen and wastes through the
whole body.

and the heart.
- Blood: is a fluid connective tissue that circulates through the
body. Blood has three main functions; transport, defense and
the regulation of body temperature. It is made up of liquid
called plasma and various blood cells.
Plasma: is a yellow liquid medium where blood cells,
antibodies and other substances float. Its main
component is water. It transports nutrients, carbon
dioxide and waste products. It also transports heat
around the body.
Blood cells: there are three kinds of blood cells. Every
blood cell derives from haematopoietic stem cells
found in the bone marrow.
