Credit Repair Organizations Act Provides Protection
If you are a victim of incorrect, questionable, outdated or unverifiable information
on your credit reports, and you attempt to dispute the items on your own and they
come back verified there is really nothing you can do.
Trans Union, Experian and
Equifax will send you a generic form letter stating that all information was verified
and if you contact them again they will deem the request frivolous as they have
already verified it.
At this point you may be forced to wait it out and wait the 7-10
years that the items will remain on your credit report.
Credit bureaus will list
negative credit information for seven years, and Bankruptcy information will remain
on your credit report for up to ten years.
The time limits begin being from the date of
first major delinquency was reported.
