Parkinson’s disease (PD) involves the malfunction and death of vital nerve cells in the brain,

substantia nigra.
The four main symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease are tremor, or trembling in hands, arms, legs,
jaw, and face; rigidity, or stiffness of the limbs and trunk; bradykinesia, or slowness of
movement; and postural instability, or weakened balance and coordination.
As these symptoms progress, patients may have problems walking, talking, or completing other
simple tasks.
PD usually impairs people over the age of 50.
