In our days, social media is being used more and more by all kinds of companies who want to recruit
new blood for themselves: startups, small businesses and large corporations.
Reppler, an online social
media monitoring service has analyzed how more than 300 job recruiters screen their candidates on the
major social networks.
According to the survey, 91% of them said that they used social networking sites in order to screen for
prospective employees.
If you think that your social media profile doesn’t influence your chances of
getting a job, think again: 69% of the respondents have rejected a candidate because of what they say
about them on a social networking site.
There’s also good news here, because 68% of the recruiters
have hired candidates based on what they saw on their profiles.
The network that is most used for
screening the candidates is Facebook with 76%, followed by Twitter with 53% and LinkedIn with 48%.
