In the actual 16th and 17th hundreds of years , a group of orthodox English protestants called
Puritans.
As a general rule, Puritans felt the actual reformation hadn t gone far enough, and wanted to
eliminate any mention of the Catholic custom in great britain.
After Charles I ascended the throne,
England was thrown into a civil war.
Puritanism collided with the crown s desire to proceed the
country from a strict reformation plan.
The Parliament had a majority of Puritans, and Charles i had
been eventually tried on "higher treason.
" Charles I refused to enter the plea, that was interpreted
because pro confesso, or an admission associated with guilt.
He was executed on the month of
january 30, 1649.
Following the actual execution associated with Charles we , England was ruled by a Council
associated with State, headed by Oliver Cromwell and Lord Fairfax.
