Earlier this year noise was a key part of the decision of Fylde Borough Council to recommend rejection (Noise Bulletin Jan/Feb p1). Lancashire County Council (the minerals waste authority charged with granting planning permission) “has agreed with shale gas firm Cuadrilla to extend the time allowed to decide the planning applications for shale gas development to 30 April 2015 to allow for consultation on new information mainly relating to noise and traffic”.
