Heathrow Airport says new air quality modelling results show that its planned expansion will not lead to worsening of air quality. The Airports Commission has released new modelling which states that there are “no predicted exceedences of the air quality objective at any receptor location, in either the do-minimum or Heathrow Airport scenarios” (see feature, page 8). Heathrow says its air quality mitigation strategy for expansion, including an extensive surface access strategy will limit airport- related road traffic, and improve air quality still further.
