Basically, one good way to expand your reach and readership is to get your blog out there!
Blog and RSS directories are simply a credible listing of sites that they choose to display so
that there visitors can conveniently find great content, organized by their category of interest.
This is beneficial in two ways.
First and primary reason being exposure and potential traffic
generation from someone interested in your blog topic, and the second being the quality links
that are being built from respected and well ranking sites-which are linking back to yours.
The search engines weigh a calculation of many unknown variables, but one thing we do know,
is that one of the core factors in ranking websites is the links that endorse it, which essentially
acts as votes of popularity and credibility
