Engineering and Quality
Engineering is something that has to be done continuously.
Quality, safety
and usability, to name but a few, are all results of engineering.
However,
rarely we ask about engineering or research and development of the product
we are buying.
It is as if we automatically assume that if some product is on
the market, it has passed all the tests and is good in every aspect.
Unfortunately, the majority of products are released on the market in a
hurry without proper testing.
An unfortunate example of this is the new
Nokia phone called Lumia.
The ones who bought it within the first few
months of its release have been quite disappointed with the phone.
The
calendar lacked in functionality and quite many people had to face the reality
that the battery stopped charging at some point.
