How To Hang Art
How do you make the most of your prized art? A good start is to have your prints and photos
professionally framed and matted.
If you have original paintings they should be stretched and
wrapped by an expert.
Now you’re ready to hang your art.
Following these tips can make the
process much easier.
Basic Rules
● Hang a solo picture with its center 60 inches from the floor or so the bottom edge is 6 to 8
inches above a piece of furniture.
Most people get this horribly wrong and hang their art
too high.
● Hang frames directly on top of paper cutouts positioned on the wall, then pull out the
paper.
Don’t swing that hammer until you’re satisfied with the layout.
Almost anything
can be undone except nail holes!
● For extra support, use two wall hangers for larger pieces.
Space them about 5 inches from
the frame edge.
● Bumpers on the bottom corners protect your wall and keep frames in place.
