JUSTO GALLEGOS´ PROJECT IS NEARLY FINISH
Justo Gallego was born in Mejorada del Campo, Madrid, in
1925.
While his youth he decided to devote himself to God,
because he had a deep Christian faith.
For this reason when he
was 27 he entered the Cistercian monastery of Santa Maria de la
Huerta, Soria.
After eight years he fell ill with tuberculosis and was
forced to leave the community for fear he could infect the others.
He went back to his village devastated by the ejection from
the monastery because his only desire was to devote his life to
Christianity.
So at his 35 years he began to build an offering to God,
nowadays he is 87 and he continues building it.
On one of his family´s farmlands, little by little he began to build a cathedral with junk
materials and spending his family inheritance.
There were never any constructions plans or official permissions.
He is not architect and
he has never been trained in the building profession.
Everything is in his head.
