Powder Coating is an Ideal Way to Protect Metal From Corrosion Powder coating is a process used to put a hard, durable coating on an object, usually made of metal, by applying a layer of powder and heating it until it melts into a solid coat. This process has several advantages over conventional painting, including its environmental friendliness and its even coverage of rough or convoluted shapes. The process begins by cleaning the piece to be coated to ensure that the powder adheres completely. This may be done by blasting the piece with an abrasive substance to remove all grease, dust or other foreign matter.
