By Samantha Couch Venus Evans has been elected Student Government Association President for 2015-2016. Evans was one of three new executive office holders to be voted in on April 16. By an on-line vote by SCC students, Hannah Isaacs was elected Vice President and Rebecca North was elected Secretary-Treasurer. “I will work diligently to continue the success of the SGA and the college,” Evans said. “I will serve as the students’ voice.” Evans has been working toward an Associate of Science degree at SCC since 2012 and is enrolled in the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. Working in the field of Physical Therapy has been a dream of hers since childhood. “I had worked for 26 years in the industrial supply and hardware industry when I decided to return to school to pursue my dream,” Evans said. “I am a mother, grandmother, volunteer fitness instructor, and bicyclist.” Evans has served as President of the Multicultural/Diversity Club on the Laurel Campus and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
