Many of us in the healthcare design and construction industry are wondering what the future of our industry will
look like.
Having weathered the great recession years of
2008 and 2009, we are still experiencing a slow market
that has grown little, if any, over the last two years.
There
are a myriad of factors at work, some that are well known
and some that are unknown or yet to be determined.
In the area of the unknown there are several regulatory issues
that are yet to be settled that will ultimately have an impact
on construction volume.
For example, the Supreme Court
is scheduled to rule this summer on the
constitutionality of the Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act,
