One of the main rites of passage is having your foot stamped with
all of the Sun’s positions.
Your foot is stamped when you sprout; the
positions are like a birth date.
Every year when the suns line up the same
way as on your foot, your foot glows where the suns are.
This announces
that it is your birthday.
On your birthday you get 45 cookies with your
suns position on them.
There are three other rites of passage, coming of age, marriage, and
death.
Coming of age is celebrated by having a ring put around your
neck.
Marriage is celebrated by having your hand tied to the one you
married for a week.
For death you are put in coffin the color of your
flower.
These are the main rites of passage.
