Did you do a double-take when you saw the title of this article? Yes, it does say barbecuing
indoors.
But take a step back – no we don’t suggest that you bring your gas or charcoal
barbecue indoors if it’s raining and fire it up – apart from the obvious fire risks, these grills
can produce carbon monoxide, which is hazardous in an indoors situation.
Don’t even be
tempted by the idea!
But what to do if you’ve organised a barbecue and the Great British weather has let you
down? You don’t want to cancel the party, so how can you get the barbecue experience
while everyone is stuck indoors?
Well, there are ways around the problem.
First, you could invest in an open electric grill.
This allows you to cook the meat as you would on a normal barbecue, ie you can turn it over
and you’ll get those charred grill marks across whatever you cook.
