When most people think about zombies they think Hollywood.
They think about
George A Romero’s Night of the Living Dead.
They think about the dancing undead in
Michael Jackson’s Thriller video.
They imagine the zombie masses attacking them in
popular video games like Left 4 Dead.
More recently they may think about the dark, very
dark, movie Zombieland , a recent comedy flick.
Most people may not be aware of it but there are real life zombies and they do
have some similarities with these fantastic artistic creations.
Like their make-believe
counterparts the zombies of Haiti also have a strong element of exoticism.
They are
seen by most people as something dark, mysterious, the product of dark spiritual
powers.
