Mr Scrooge Mr. Scrooge was born in Glasgow in 1867 as a key character in Charles Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol. He has appeared in books, television and film. Although he quit school at an early age, he has a sharp mind and is always ready to learn. Mr. Scrooge is fluent in many languages from his travels all around the world. He made a living shining boots until one customer inspired him to become something more. Mr. Scrooge was a man not very fond of Christmas, thus one year he decided to not take part in the festivities. However, on Christmas Eve he was visited by four spirits. The spirits showed him that he does not have to act miserable all the time, as his actions will eventually cause him to have major consequences sent his way. Mr. Scrooge became a cabin boy on a Clyde cattle ship to the US where he would eventually settle and make his fortune in business.
