The Circle of Excellence Efficiency invited representatives from Deutsche
Telecom and Deutsche Post DHL to attend two strategic dialog meetings at the top
management level on 6 and 7 February; the purpose of the meeting was to push
ahead with the consulting topic of ?raising efficiency and restructuring?.
It
was an occasion for the sharing of ideas and experience with success factors for
restructuring projects, best practice approaches, and other subjects.
One result
of the discussions was the decision to set up an efficiency action databank for
all of Detecon.
When the need arises to cut costs in a short time, many companies are quick to
take certain actions such as headcount reductions.
But that is the wrong
approach.
It is counterproductive: cost reductions which have not been well
