Jeff Cancilla owned Provident Law Group- a law modification company in Irvine,
California.
Unfortunately he trusted Tom Duong, who introduced himself to Jeff as a
broker who used to deal in sub-prime and questionable loans.
Gradually Tom started to
siphon funds from the company by transferring it to a dummy account.
When questioned
by Jeff, Tom reacted by throwing Jeff out of his own office.
Employees were later asked
to convert Provident s clients to Duong and Colombana- a new venture started by
Colombana and himself.
Cancilla then sent a cest and desist letter to Duong on 6/25/2010
to no avail as below:
