home to its first macadamia processing plant,
Mayo Macs KZN, after
a joint venture between
100 farmers and Mayo
Macs Macadamias Pty.
Mayo Macs KZN is a
macadamia processing
factory, situated on the
R102 near Felixton Mill,
which officially opened
its doors during April.
The new factory, which
in October was a barren
muddy field, only took
five months to build and
equip, despite builders
and contractors battling
the wet weather conditions.
Considered to be a
high-energy food containing no cholesterol
or trans fatty acids,
macadamia nuts are
fast becoming a lucrative business for the
shareholders of the KZN
