Sentraal GAME bl.4 Concerns about game breading SAFETY pg 8 Firefighters prepare for fire season bl. 6 Aartappels se baie voordele KULTIVARS March 2015 SABRINA DEAN More than 600 farmers across three district municipalities in the Free State are set to benefit from the R20 million disaster relief aid announced by Premier Ace Magashule during his State of the Province address in February. This is according to Mafa Mokoaqa, agricultural risk and disaster manager at the provincial department of agriculture. He says the R20 million comes from national treasury and will be utilised for phase 2 of disaster relief efforts following fires that devastated more than 100 000 hectares in the province last year. Free State declared parts of Dihlabeng, Maluti-a-Phofung and Mohokare disaster areas. According to Mokoaqa, the province has already spent about R5 million to deliver nearly 900 tons of fodder to affected farmers from 28 November to 19 December last year.
