THE iSimangaliso Wetland Park
welcomed close on 200 government officials, tour operators and
tourist guides from all over the
world on Friday, 21 February as
part of International Tourist Guide
Day.
The visit was a collaboration
between the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDT), National
Department of Tourism and the iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority.
Officials and delegates were
shown several of the most popular
tourist attractions in the Lake St
Lucia Estuary and Eastern Shores
sections of the park.
iSimangaliso staff as well as
community leaders addressed the
group on the history and current
developments in the park, while
they enthused over the stunning
vistas and animal life they encountered.
