These are just a few names that line the bookshelf of a tidy office in Haley Center
room 8086.
Nothing is of disarray and the only thing that lies on top of the desk is
a “To-Do List” of the day.
He has on a perfectly pressed button down shirt and is
impressively groomed.
All of the other offices surrounding room 8086 are filled
with frantic teachers getting ready for Thanksgiving break who are more than
ever ready for the day to be over.
Not Allen Salerno.
Salerno is filled with excitement just thinking about teaching his next World
Literature class of the day.
“Literature is always on my mind and I look forward to
digging into my favorite author’s works to teach students everyday,” Salerno
says.
His eyes are wide-eyed and bright just talking about literature.
“I truly did follow
my passion and that passion has led me here, in Auburn, Alabama, and I am
forever grateful.
”
