The SA Rugby Union reaches a watershed in its relationship with the Southern Kings this month as it seeks to deliver a long-standing promise on one front while appeasing the fears of a larger rugby public on the other. Saru is sending a South African Sanzar delegation to Australasia with the express brief of convincing its Sanzar partners in Australia and New Zealand that it is in their best interests to accommodate a 16th team in the Super Rugby tournament from 2013. South Africa s Sanzar delegation will consist of EP Rugby Union President Cheeky Watson, who will represent the Southern Kings, Brand de Villiers from the Bulls, Kevin de Klerk from the Lions and Brian van Zyl from the Sharks. They will accompany SARU president Oregan Hoskins, deputy president Mark Alexander and SARU CEO Jurie Roux.
