One player (the jumper) at a time tries to
jump over the bodies the other players (the
mares).
The mares start out in a low crouched
position and increase their height each round until
they are standing.
The names for each round are:
jankos, bankos, erenos, trakenos, altuk tak,
prehvurli kalpak.

“Hamkane”
This is a Bulgarian folk custom associated with the
celebration before lent.
The family sits around the
table with a red thread tied to the ceiling.
At the
other end of the thread is a piece of halva, a
hardboiled egg or a wood.
The thread is spun and
the family tries to catch the item in their mouth,
without using their hands.
At the end of the game
the thread is burned and people make predictions
