A few weeks ago, we started a feature on an index
of organizations based on their reporting
techniques in communicating Social
Responsibilitypoliciesandinitiatives.
We started with the first group tagged, CSR
Naïve .
These are organizations, who know little
or next to nothing about CSR; carrying out their
operations with the perception that CSR is a
voluntary practice, concept or phenomenon for
privateorganizationsonly.
The second group, the CSR Bandwagon ,
consists of organizations, who engage in CSR by
making donations to specific charities,
community development and fundraising
projects mainly hinged on Corporate
Philanthropy.
The third group, the CSR Forward
organizations, is made up of entities perceived to
clearly understand the concept and practice of
CSR, but implement the phenomenon very
minimally or in incoherent elements.
