The first thing you must deal with is the
emotion you feel about this bad break.
I suggest you adopt the
attitude that you made the best possible swing you could, and
the fact that it landed in a divot was totally beyond your control.
Now move on to the new task at hand.
you will need to
determine what type of divot it is.
Is it just dirt? Has the old
grass been put back into it, or is it sand or seed filled? The
answer will determine how you proceed.
keep in mind, the adjustments you make will be slight.
Don’t
make this more difficult than it really is.
Playing off dirt is, in my
opinion, the easiest of the possibilities.
use a club with very little
bounce (if using a wedge), put it back in your stance just a bit and
hit your normal shot.
