Weekly respect circle at Angell
Elementary brings the entire school
together.
Each Thursday morning,
students gather in the gym and each
Angell staff member takes a moment to
recognize a student in their classroom
for positive behavior, outstanding effort in
school, or being model citizen.
The entire
student body sits quietly and listens to
the recognition.
Interim Principal Chris
Sandoval believes this weekly ritual has
changed behavior at the school and
helped students understand their role as
a student and importance of respecting
one another.
Students want to be on
their best behavior in all areas of the
school (classroom, cafeteria, playground,
hallway) so they can be recognized at
respect circle in front of the entire student
body.
After each circle session, the
students who were recognized have their
photo taken together, which is put on the
“We are beautiful people” board.
