“News Faux You” Non-cents Vol. XXVI, Issue 2 BOYS? UGH. by Olivia Roberts In what many are calling the University’s largest success story in years, campus officials announced Monday that UCSC has acquired, “some of the choicest .net domain names in the world” at a domain registry auction last month in Carson City, Nevada. Dan Wurshle, UCSC’s Director of University Acquisitions, announced in a press release Monday that over 200 domain names were attained at the auction, including “slangbang.net,” “zoomiversity. net,” and the much sought after, “californiagoo.net.” The total price for UCSC’s new crown jewel came in at an astonishing bargain of only 3.2 million dollars after tax. “It was definitely a score alright,” remarked Wurshle in his release, “In past years the university has only been able to pick up a few bare bones .edu’s, but this time we came prepared.
