Benefits of Finite Element Analysis In Mechanical Industry
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a program that places many small "elements" on the model in question
and then calculates the load effects on the element.
FEA is a popular method and it is usually used to
help better understand some very complex problems by creating a computational model of reality in a
form of mathematics.
Finite element analysis is including following major phases,
• Pre-processing
• Solution
• Post-processing
In pre-processing the analyst develops a finite element mesh to divide the subject geometry into
subdomains for mathematical analysis and applies material properties and boundary conditions while in
solution phase the program derives the governing matrix equations from the model and solves for the
primary quantities, and at last in pre-processing, the analyst checks the validity of the solution, examines
the values of primary quantities and derives and examines additional quantities.
FEA can be condu
