On April 19, three Appeal
Court judges made a controversial ruling that sparked a
debate around injunctions,
the media and privacy that is
still raging on today.
It was ruled that a married
man working in entertainment, who had an affair with a
colleague, could not be named
in the media to protect his
children from bullying.
Ever since, a spate of such
rulings – known as injunctions – have dominated headlines and ignited debate as to
what levels they could escalate
to, with the potential to protect the rich who can afford to
buy silence and secrecy.
