Year 2 Primary Teacher, New North Community School and Children’s Centre, London
I am a Year 2 teacher with a class of 28 children.
The majority of the children are working at the
national average for their age and 1/5 are working above this.
I was thrilled to be trialing out this as I felt my resources on money were minimal.
Initially I was going
to pick a focus group of children to use the resource but I decided to use the whole class to establish
its suitability for the year group as a whole.
The children were split into 6 mixed ability groups of 4 children and given a character to focus on.
They were excited about the prospect of ‘pocket money’ and the wallets added realism.
The children
loved this resource and enjoyed spending, saving and receiving money.
