The gluten separation
The process start with the maize kernel being broken during a process called
steeping this is achieved by soaking the maize into water at a temperature of 50
degrees celcius with the addition of sulphur dioxide for about 36 hours,
soluables are leached out of the maize kernel and at the end of the required
steeping time access water known as the steep liquor is taken off concentrated by
evaporation ,because it is rich in protein it is then added into the residual fiber
dried to the required moisture content and protein and sold as animal feed.
