Although Black History Month may be far away,
however I can’t help but wonder, is this a contradiction of Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr.
’s dream???
Dr.

strived to create equal rights
for all people, abolishing racism and other prejudice.
However,
are constant reminders of how AfricanAmericans have suffered
in the past really helping our society grow? In my opinion, No.
My
explanation is simple.
I think Black History Celebrations are
actually keeping our society at a stand still.
Creating a month
dedicated to the past sufferings of slavery does nothing to
improve equality among society.
Think of it as two friends who have just been in an
extremely heated argument.
After years, the two friends finally
decide to bury the hatchet, however, their friendship will never
be able to grow back to the way it was if one friend constantly
brings up how the other has made him suffer because of the past.
